What is pride?

“We can take up space. We can lift up the voices of black and brown queer and trans folks. We can be married to the woman of our dreams. We can hold hands on the street and kiss and hug and feel safe. We can have our chosen family. We can work as a photographer or badass business owner. We can be a short-haired, masculine-presenting Dyke or a hot, lip-gloss-wearing foxy lady.

We matter. Equity matters.

There is still so much more work to be done. There is no room for shame.
We do this together, not alone, one day at a time. And we thank our many ancestors, especially Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson who came before and paved the way.”
