Our Materials
We source the best materials in the industry like wood mouldings, acrylic glazing with UV protection, and acid-free mats and foam core. Premium is our starting point.
Moulding
Our frame mouldings are made of solid wood with premium finishes like hand-leafing, veneer, and gesso. We custom cut and join each piece of moulding to fit your art so each frame is truly one of a kind.
Mat Board
We use acid-free mat board to separate your art from the moulding and acrylic. After you select a mat color, our designers hand-match the shade to your art, choosing from dozens of shades.
Foam Core
We mount your art on acid-free foam core backing which keeps the work smooth and supported. We dry mount most pieces using a reversible heat activation process, but will also float mount, hinge mount or even sew original works or textiles to a mat board for mounting.
Acrylic
We use acrylic as glazing for your art. Although acrylic is more expensive than glass, we use it because it offers superior UV protection, shipping durability, is lightweight and beautifully clear.
Kraft Paper
Once your frame is finished and all pieces are assembled, we seal the back with custom kraft paper. This keeps dust and debris away from your work, which is vital for preservation. We love the way it looks, too.
Hanging Hardware
We include hanging hardware that’s appropriate for the size of your finished art on the back of each frame. Depending on how large your finished piece is, we’ll use sawtooth hangers, hanging wire, or corner brackets. Don’t worry, we’ll also send the corresponding nails and hooks to get your piece on the wall—all you’ll need is a hammer.
Printing Paper & Inks
If you choose to upload your art or photo, we’ll print it on Premium Lustre or Enhanced Matte paper using archival inks. We validate the resolution of your piece during upload and we double (and triple!) check every file we receive so you can be confident it will look great when it’s printed.
