Love is Kind
Hannah is an expectant mom. Reflecting on this new chapter in her life, she came back to where it all began: with her parents. For their 30th wedding anniversary, she framed a photo of her parents with the reminder of a verse from First Corinthians. Every now and then, we can all use a reminder that, “love is patient, love is kind.” Here’s Hannah, in her own words:
“In this new season of life that Paul and I are stepping into as parents-to-be and first-time home owners, I have reflected a lot on how thankful I am for parents who went before me and set such an amazing example. They raised three kids who were all very different with unique talents, and provided absolutely everything we could ever ask for. Anything we dreamed up doing or trying - which believe me was a whole lot - they were in the front row cheering us on and supporting us both emotionally and financially.
My daddy worked hard as heck, out the door by 5:30 AM, but was a classic dance dad to me, sitting front and center with my mom at every single performance at the end of a long day, no matter how big or small the performance. My mom was a full-time teacher who was passionate about her job and dang good at it, but still somehow raised three children completely hands-on, and cooked dinner every single night where we sat around the table together as a family. She took every opportunity to turn situations into life lessons and is a nurturer in every aspect of the word. When I think of my dad at our home, I think of a man with a red neck from the sun and a hankie over his face, donning the same straw cowboy hat he’s had since as long as I can remember, working the land, mowing, edging, all of it. And ending the night with a collection of mixed nuts or a bowl of ice cream in his same slippers we would buy him every few Christmases when they started to get holes in the soles. My parents are one of a kind, and they celebrated 30 years of marriage this year.
I am so happy to team up with Framebridge for their brand new Wedding Shop Collection to honor my parents in such a huge year. They are worth every ounce of celebration and don’t have a single framed photo of themselves together! I truly can’t imagine stepping into this new season of life without their guidance. I grew up in a home where I saw firsthand how to raise a family, work hard, and put Jesus first in everything. Love you Mom and Dad. Happy 30th year of marriage and here’s to 30 more.”
